It’s no secret that I’m a bit of an education junkie and I would much rather study something than watch regular TV or go out and be social. Last year I decided to bite the bullet and just study make-up artistry as it’s been on my list for a little while. When doing my initial research I came across the option to study it online or in person. I decided that I would really appreciate the hands on learning and didn’t think that online makeup training would be right for me. In December 2017 I graduated from The French Beauty Academy and completed my Cert 3 in Make-up. I enjoyed my time there and was sorry that it ended so soon. While I was studying at the French I really wanted to delve into special effects and go to a school that specialised in film. During my research I came across the AACM and decided that that was where I wanted to continue my education. I was originally planning on enrolling for 2018 or end of 2017 but at the time I was told that August was the last part-time intake for the Diploma of Cinemagraphic and as I knew I wouldn’t be able to take 2 weekdays off a week I gave myself no choice but to enrol in the part-time course beginning August. 2017 became a hectic year- working my full time job- 1-2 night classes on the gold coast each week and then taking every Thursday off for more class. At the time I also had a Sunday job at a bakery and weddings to photograph on some Saturdays. Let me know if you want me to write about my French Beauty Academy experience & AACM experience.
During this time I continue to watch youtube videos from other makeup artists talking about their school experience and many reviews of the schools they went to. Part of me was thinking are they just saying nice things about the academy because they get paid to or get free stuff or do they genuinely recommend the school. Also the kits- most of the time the reviews are just an unboxing of the kit they received from the school but not an actual review and feedback on their study experience. I was then thinking I should test one out for myself and see if an online school is really comparable to an in person school and so my online makeup school addiction begins. Ha ha.
