Welcome back and this is my fourth video I’m recording today. It’s getting dark so apologies if it’s hard to see. Earlier I recorded the kit I received for my Cert 3 in makeup and the design and apply unit at The French Beauty Academy. This one is going to be what I received so far for my Diploma of Cinemagraphic Makeup at the Australian Academy of Cinemagraphic Makeup.
I originally wanted to do this course early next year after I’ve completed my Cert 3 at The French Beauty Academy but they told me this is the last intake they are taking for the part time Diploma in Cinemagraphic Makeup. I can only commit to part time which is one day a week so I decided to just jump in and get started.
Things are a bit full on at the moment- well it always is for me but more so now I have an extra class and work to commit to. I work a full time job and they graciously allow me to take days off and leave early when needed. I’m also a photographer so I’m working on building that up. I’ve also opened a portrait studio so I’m trying to work on that too! i have been recording all these youtube videos on an old iphne and in front of a window in my photography studio. I was going to record on my DSLR but I put that in the too hard basket. It would have taken so much longer to record everything and trying to keep everything in focus and the files would be way too large. The iphone does a great video for Youtuve so I think all future videos will be shot on the iphone.
This course- Diploma if Cinemagraphic Makeup with the Australian Academy of Cinemagrahic makeup is a one year part time course. So I have class every Thursday 9am to 5pm. My first class was a couple of days ago.
I’ve received most of the kit. I think I’m missing 2 bags and another item which I forget. I’m thankful that they have given us high Quality products so we can use them for our professional kit. All the makeup is MAC so I’m happy with that.
The course is what they call a rolling intake so students just join in at the beginning of new units. For some of the girls this is their last unit to complete while others they only started a month or two earlier. I was the only newbie for this intake and everyone has been super lovely and helpful for my first day. The first unit which I’m doing now is period makeup. So we went over 1920s, 1930s & 1940s makeup. I wasn’t given my kit at the beginning of class so the teacher let me use her brush set and the schools makeup. Enough of me talking- let’s jump on over and see what I have received so far.
Also this is kind of an unboxing video as I haven’t opened anything I’ve just laid everything out. When I stop this video I’m going to open everything up and take out of the packaging so I don’t have to ruffle around later and we can go through all the items one by one. Ok cheers bye!
Ok so I don’t have much light at all left so I’ll try and go through everything quickly. So this is what I got in my kit- I got a Whal professional cape. I also got a black towel- this is a microfibre- I actually prefer the microfibre as they pack up smaller. I also got a MAC conceal and correct palette in light and medium. 3 x MAC Lip palette in preferred pinks, editorial reds & necessary nudes.
I got a MAC mineralise blush in warm soul and dainty. I got a MAC bronzing powder in Matte bronze. MAC medium plus mineralise skin finish and in light. A MAC gel eyeliner in black track. 2x MAC cream sheen glass in richer lusher and partial to pink. A bit dissappointed in the colour choice as both similar- would have preferred a nude or red. spatula, palette, MAC strobe cream 30ml, 3x MAC face and body in N5, C1, 3x studio fix in NW25, NC15, NC35- lime lily brush cleaner and it;s super strong. Makeup designer tools folio brush set. 22 brush set and it’s 20 brushes the case makes its 21 and this mini kabuki brush makes it 22. It kinda annoying I wish I held off. I actually bought almost this exact same set when the hair and beauty expo was here. These brushes are pretty good quality and it’s better quality than the French Beauty Academy brushes. The French Beauty Academy brushes are just cheapos.
